Maui Ultra FINS - Advanced Airfoil Design
Delta Wing Fin - the ultimate shallow water fin

The newly developed Delta is the ideal freeride fin for shallow waters which are encountered at many European, North America and Carribean spots.

The high rake also solves those frequent weed problems and softens ground contact.

Compared to a straight freeride fin, the length can almost be halved. The Delta is a fast fin with good upwind characteristics.

Best suited: Freeride / Freemove at shallow and very weedy spots

Ambitious slalom sailors who want to go fast in shallow waters or very weedy spots should go for the Delta Slalom.

Due to the wider base, the fin length can almost be halved. The Delta Slalom allows excellent upwind runs, is very fast and the high rake offers increased safety in shallow conditions.

Best suited: Slalom in shallow waters and for extremely weedy conditions

The revolutionary Delta Design with its extremely thin profile allows for very high speeds.

The Delta Speed offers ambituous speed sailors the first and unique chance to sail in extremely shallow water like tidal channels. Due to the wide base, fin lengths vary from only 15 to 19 cm.

This very fin was developed and tested with many European speed sailors throughout 2011 / 2012 and has already proven itself in competitions.

Best suited: Shallow waters and extremely weedy spots

The Delta Wing fins of Maui Ultra Fins represent a completely new generation of fins which have been transferred from fighter type delta wing design to windsurfing applications.

Due to the unique features of a delta wing with

  1. -  extremely short span combined with large area,

  1. -  very thin foil with high stiffness and

  1. -  the unique characteristics of the highly raked fin in providing leading edge vortices which hold  the

flow on the surface up to 30 degrees of angle of attack.

the Delta Wing fin opens new areas of sailing applications:

First, really shallow water spots (e.g. tidal waters) which could not be sailed with conventional fins can now be used without any danger of breaking your fin or crashing thus damaging your body or your     equipment.

Secondly, also very weedy areas can be sailed. All weeds or obstacles will simply slip away due to the high rake of 55 degrees.

Furthermore, the thin foils make them very fast for high speed sailing and offers:

-good upwind performance due to vortices enhanced flow attachment up to high angles of attack,

-high agility due to the super short length, usable length is nearly half of a conventional slalom fin

-the high rake makes the fin very comfortable and controllable at high speeds

-jibing is easy without losing speed.

All those features make the Delta Wing fin an ideal supplement in order to maximise your sailing adventures.
